2006 Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas and God's blessings in the New Year!

the Giurintano Family

David, Patti, Bethany and Kacie

The year began with the McKinley girls gathering at our house for Winter Formal pictures.

I tried something new - I bought a hunt at the WRS Ranch near Mountain Home off of ebay. Those Corbon .45/70 loads did the trick.

In March I had to do a bit of government work in DC and got to spend the night of the LSU-Duke game with Andy and Chris Novick. The Novicks, although Maryland grads, have sent two of their three to Duke. We all enjoyed the result of the game!

The next weekend Patti and I finally did it - we celebrated our 24th anniversary in Indianapolis at the Final Four. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the tip was as close as they got. Maybe we'll spend number 25 in Atlanta?

The 2006 McKinley Prom.

I(the NHDP) sponsored a capstone design project for LSU's ME Department. The students designed and constructed a device to measure ankle stiffness. It works great. We'll use it to compare stiffness of normals vs diabetics without sensation.
Patti and I tried to explore the Texas Hill Country for possible retirement spots. I couldn't pass up an axis buck.

Connor hit the big #1!

My favorite of Kacie's senior pictures.

Oh no! Another ebay hunt at the WRS!

Amy and Shawn moved to Montgomery in August. So Thanksgiving was the first time we saw them since their move. Bethany, Kacie and her BF, Tyler, made the trip too. We had a great time.

The 2006 Handgun Hunt at the YO Ranch was another great time. I used the .45/70 Contender on Mister Elk. He was a 7 by 7. That was exciting!
Oh, did I mention that during Thanksgiving week, Connor convinced Amy and Shawn that it was about time to get married.

The last McKinley Winter Dance Performance.

I think the caption says it all!

Christmas 2006 at Neil and Ingrid's. Things in New Orleans don't look that different from last year at this time. Lakeview and the 9th Ward are pretty much empty. Maybe a FEMA trailer every 10 blocks and a very occasionally restored home.
